Noisy5,
Conductive Material Project Part 3, 2009

With the kind support from Timcal Graphite & Carbon and Anowo Ltd.

The Noisy 5 are a series of textile samples, developed further from the Conductive Material Project Part 1 and 2. The project explores the aesthetics of the handmade in the field of conductive textiles.
Paper has been covered with graphite dust and lasercut. The fragile designs are embedded between two layers of fine tissue and are wired to a microchip. This so called “Auduino” developed by Peter Knight works like a synthesizer. By touching the Noisy 5 the user alternates the sound in pitch, volume and decay.
